Our product development strategy

Inventing and reinventing

For TRB, innovation is the key to developing new products. Our research center combines its know-how with that of our design office.

Based in Nesles (Pas-de-Calais), this laboratory is committed to researching new solutions, new materials and new concepts, which will give shape to new "concrete" and "mass" products. Our researchers keep a constant watch on technical processes and new products arriving on the market, characterizing raw materials... Whatever our products under development, our experts make sure that once in production, our "finished products" guarantee a constant and continuous maintenance of their properties.

A commitment to innovation
has led to the creation of products such as :

  • The PUREBLOX 1400 This new technology for insulating refractory blocks combines safe insulation, high-temperature resistance up to 1,400°C and a response to health and environmental issues (absence of CMR-classified fibers).
  • The ECOFIB range: composite products with a very high stainless steel fiber content, precast shapes with extreme resistance to mechanical, thermal and abrasive impact.
  • Green" capping compounds: tar-free, with quality monitoring of capping compound temperatures from manufacture to use.

Sustainability and innovation
in partnership with research institutions

Today, TRB is moving in directions that meet our customers' needs for healthy, reliable, high-performance products, as well as societal issues and environmental standards. On this last point, our efforts are in line with our QHSE approach. In concrete terms, this translates into our decision not to use "marked" products that are harmful to health, to include recyclable raw materials (RPM) in the composition of our products, etc.

Product innovation at TRB is also part of a partner eco-system made up of recognized and specialized university laboratories such as CEMHTI, CNRS Orléans France, LMDC Toulouse France, and private laboratories.

Meeting tomorrow's challenges

A forerunner in innovation in the refractory market, TRB is already anticipating economic and social trends, environmental issues and the limitation of resources and raw materials, by constantly developing innovative solutions. For example, by incorporating up to 15% recycled materials in the design of new products.
