TRB over the years
Founded in 1947, TRB (Terres Réfractaires du Boulonnais) initially specialized in refractory sand mining.
Over the decades, TRB Refractories has established itself as a world leader thanks to a series of major innovations, such as the creation of the first waterless Taphole Clay and the development of patented ecological solutions. Integrated into the Groupe CB in 1988, TRB has continued to expand its global footprint and diversify its activities, marking major milestones with the opening of international subsidiaries and commitment to corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Today, as an internationally recognized SME, TRB is shaping the future with its new "Beyond 2030" strategic direction, while remaining true to its mission of making the daily lives of men and women easier through its innovative products and solutions.
1947
Creation of TRB to exploit refractory sand from various quarries in the Nord Pas de Calais region.
1960
TRB Réfractaires expands and manufactures its first waterless, controlled-firing Taphole Clay . This makes TRB a world leader.
1970
TRB, far ahead of its time, developed and patented resin-free Tapehole Clay, known as ecological Tapehole Clay.
1979 & 1981
Krosaki BOF license (India) for the gunning process and Krosaki BF license for refractory concretes.
1988
TRB joins the Groupe CB.
2000
Sambre & Dyle becomes TRB BELGIUM.
2005
Creation of TRB CHINA and TRB RUSSIA.
2012
TRB Feuerfest GmbH founded.
2018
TRB celebrates its 70th anniversary.
2021
The Groupe CB's CSR approach, deployed at TRB, is proof of the company's commitment to society and the environment.
2023
Launch of the Winei project to modernize the Nesles plant.
